Kangra Fort

The historic fort of Kangra was built by King Bhuma Chand. This fort was the centre of attraction for the rulers of northern India. Kangra fort is located on the bank of the river Banganga with fabulous temples and artwork in entire premises. The fort got monumental loss due to severe earthquake in 1905 AD. Presently the archeological survey of India is maintaining its entire maintenance & repair task.

 

Brijeshwari Temple

Kangra town has the famous temple dedicated to Brajeshwari Devi. This temple is dedicated to goddess Brajeshwari, the in the Hindu mythology. It is the occult power house for other deities from near and far of Himachal. Due to its legendary wealth, this temple was subject to successive attacks by invaders from the North. Mohammed Ghazni is known to have departed with a king's ransom in gold, silver and jewels in 1009. Destroyed completely in 1905 by an earthquake, it was rebuilt in 1920.

 

Chamunda Temple

It is 15 km. from Kangra town. Situated on the right bank of the 'Baner' stream with the Dhauladhar as a backdrop, this has an idol of goddess Chamunda, who, it is said to have powerful energy to fulfill wishes of people who practice rituals and worship as offerings to goddess. On the back of the temple is a cave niche where a stone 'Lingam' under a boulder represents Nandi Keshwar ( Shiva )

 

Chinmaya Tapovan

10 km. from Dharamshala & Situated on a beautiful wide open hill at the foothills of Dhauladhar mountain ranges is the recently established 'Ashram' complex by Swami Chinmayananda, who was a great spiritual master & proponent of the holy Gita. It is remarkable place to visit with best of garden, a library and book shop for spiritual seekers.

 

Palampur Tea Gardens

Palampur is a wonderful place in the Kangra alley. known for its fresh tea gardens and pine forests Palampur enjoys a healthy climate and the pine scented air is said to have curative properties. On educational front an Agricultural University is already functioning and some small tea factories are also coming up.

 

Tibetan Buddhist Temple

The Mc Leodganj town is home to exiled Tibetans and their spiritual master His Holiness Dalai Lama. Many seekers as well as tourists from world over visit Mc Leodganj to see this beautiful temple of Buddhist tradition.

Bir is a small town located in the state of Himachal Pradesh in northern India.
